The will of William Drake of Taunton, husbandman, was dated 15 September 1727 and was proved 20 February 1727/8.Bristol Co., Mass., probates vol. 6 [https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C9Y5-893S-Z?cat=277787 pages 88–9] It mentions:
* wife Sary
* youngest son Benjamin
* eldest son William
* sons Joseph, James, and Daniel
* daughters Abigail, Rebecah, Lydia, and SarahThe will stated that daughter Sarah was to live with her mother until she reaches age eighteen.

== Research Notes ==
Louis Stoughton Drake in ''The Drake Family in England and America'' lists only eldest daughter Sarah. But William's explicit statement in his 1727 will that his daughter Sarah would live with her mother until age eighteen proves that there was a second daughter named Sarah, probably the youngest. A more general observation: assuming that when names were repeated that the elder child had died young, it appears that in his will he named the sons in birth order and the daughters separately in birth order, except for switching Rebecca and Lydia.
