Silvester was werkzaam als Sierstucadoor. Ca. 1903 kreeg hij werk als sierstucadoor aan een kerk in Düsseldorf in Duitsland.
Hij vertrok met zijn gezin naar Duitsland.
Tijdens zijn werkzaamheden aan de kerk in Düsseldorf is hij van de steiger gevallen en verongelukt.
Een paar jaar later (ca. 1915/1916) is zijn vrouw Ann Bunn, met de kinderen teruggekeerd naar Baarn in Nederland.
