Ann Bunn is geboren in Liverpool. Nadat haar ouders verongelukten woonde zij samen met haar broer in Liverpool waar zij werkte als kindermeisje bij een familie.
Toen de familie naar Nederland emigreerde werd Ann Bunn ontslagen.
Zij is toen als verstekeling per boot van Liverpool naar Nederland gekomen en toch in dienst gebleven bij de famillie die een villa betrok op de hoek Javalaan / Oosterstraat in Baarn.
Daar ontmoette zij Silvester van Zijst.
