This family tree concerns the family of Lucien Stern (born 1956 in Amsterdam).

The earliest ancestor found, is Berendt Stern(e) of the Sternhof in Handrup in Germany. He was born before 1660 and became Bürger (citizen) of Stadt Fürstenau on 27 December 1678 after marrying Agnesa Möller there on 29 November that year.

Later his great grandsons came to the area around Amsterdam as seasonal workers around the year 1800 to work in horticulture for the growing city. They then married and stayed in the Netherlands. Some were engaged in cotton printing, but most were greengrocers.

The Sternhof farm was sold to an adjacent farm in the 18th or 19th century and demolished.
