Toen hij zich terugtrok uit de directie bleef hij als commissaris verbonden aan de moedermaatschappij N.V. Asselbergs' IJzerindustrie en Handelsmaatschappij en aan N.V. Asselbergs' IJzerhandel. Buiten zijn werkzaamheden voor de familiebedrijven was hij tevens: Lid van de Hoofd Raad van de St. Vincentius vereniging en voorzitter van de Bijzondere Raad van dezelfde vereniging te Bergen op Zoom. Medestichter en secretaris van het kerkbestuur van de parochie H. Joseph te Bergen op Zoom. Ridder in de Orde van de H. Gregorius de Grote. Arnoldus Theresia Emilius Cornelis Asselbergs woonde samen met zijn eveneens ongetrouwde zus Anna Antoinetta Lucia Philomena in de Stationsstraat op nummer 16 te Bergen op Zoom.
