    De in 1872 in Niedorp geboren Dorus vertrok ca 1894 naar Haarlem om daar WATERMOLENAAR te worden op de SCHOTERVEENSE MOLEN. Of het molenaarsschap ook tot ontmoeting met zijn partner de in 1878 in Zijpe geboren Kaatje heeft geleid is niet bekend. In haar familie komen ook molenaars voor. In 1894 was het fundament van de molen vernieuwd. De molen stond midden in de ca 205 ha grote onbebouwde polder.
    Rond 1920 begon de nieuwbouw steeds meer richting van de molen te komen.
    In 1922 werd een electrisch gemaal in gebruik genomen, Ik 1935 word de polder opgeheven en de gemeente Schoten kwam bij Haarlem.
    Later is nog een extra electrisch gemaal op de molenwerf bijgeplaatst.

Cathy Pater Hello Peter, wij zijn aangekomen in Australia op 3 Maart 1953. Wij zijn gevlogen, met KLM. Naam van het vliegtuig was De Aalsmeer. We hadden een hoop problemen met de vlugt. Dat we in Bangkok waren en we vertrokken de volgende morgen hadden we gelijk problemen met een van de motors en moesten we terug, en kregen we een niewe motor. Toen vlogen we naar Dutch Indonesia en deden ze daar een niewe motor in van de klm. Toen kreeg fe steward een bericht dat zijn vader was plotseling overleden en vloog gelijk terug. En de stewardes kreeg een infection, en dus moesten we dus wachten voor een niewe stewardes. In andere woorden, de trip duurde wel over een week. Vlogen niet snachts, we vlogen op het einde van de vlugt, van Darwin naar Melbourne en dat was toen een 13 uur vlugt. Dat was een hele grieselige tijd voor iedereen , maar uiteindelek gelukkig goed aangekomen. Dus niet met de boot. Heel verhaal he?. Heb je een mooie verjaardag gehad? Mijn verjaardag is 27 April, ik wordt dan 78 Hmmm!!! Veel liefs van ons Tinie en Piet xx oo
