Of het molenaarsschap ook tot ontmoeting met zijn partner de in 1878 in Zijpe geboren Kaatje heeft geleid is niet bekend. In haar familie komen ook molenaars voor. In 1894 was het fundament van de molen vernieuwd. De molen stond midden in de ca 205 ha grote onbebouwde polder.
    Rond 1920 begon de nieuwbouw steeds meer richting van de molen te komen.
    In 1922 werd een electrisch gemaal in gebruik genomen, Ik 1935 word de polder opgeheven en de gemeente Schoten kwam bij Haarlem.
    Later is nog een extra electrisch gemaal op de molenwerf bijgeplaatst.
