In het Kerkeboek Kerkelijke gemeente - Middelbert 1630-1790, folio 25 is vermeld: "Den 9. Meert (1736) De Houwelike proclamatie opgeteeckent van de E. Cornellis Jacobs van Tjamsweer en De jonge dochter Marchien Abels van de Oevelgunne. en den 1. April in den houwelikschen staat bevestight.
Uit dit huwelijk zijn geen kinderen bekend.

In het Kerkeboek Kerkelijke gemeente - Noordwolde 1675-1811, folio 35 staat in het jaar 1739 vermeld: "24 Maij is Dato Simms van Noordwolde met Marchien Abels Weduwe van Cornelis Jacobs van Middelbert gecopuleert". Dates Simens is de zoon van Simen Dates en Geertruijdt Jacobs. Hij wordt vermeld in aktes als Dato, Data, Date Simms, Dato Sijmms en Dato Sijms en Date Sijmons
Dato Simms werd "1763 den 23 Jan." bevestigd in het ambt van ouderling "in plaetse van Hindrick Jans" 1764 den 8 Jan. werd Jacob Willems in zijn plaats bevestigd omdat Date was overleden.
