Isidoor hielp zijn oudere broer met de boekhouding, die inmiddels in de woonkamer werd gedaan van het ouderlijk huis aan de Walstraat. Als later Joseph komt helpen trekt Isidoor er op uit. Hij is handelsman in hart en nieren. Hij weet de fabriek van zijn vader in binnen en buitenland grotere bekendheid te geven.
Ies werkt als directeur van de vennootschap bij het handelskantoor in Rotterdam.
In de crisisjaren moest Ies de aandelen in het bedrijf verkopen.
