    Henriette (Henny) en baby Karl werden op 09-04-1943 geïnterneerd in Kamp Vught. Baby Karl (5 maanden oud) overleed aldaar op 18-04-1943. Echtgenoot Meier, Henriette en haar moeder Emma Sachs-Heine werden van Kamp Vught overgeplaatst naar Kamp Westerbork. Moeder werd op 11-05-1943 naar Sobibor (PL) getransporteerd en daar op 14-05-1943 vermoord. Ze werd 77 jaar oud.

    Op 21-09-1943 werden Henriette en echtgenoot Meier naar Auschwitz (PL) getransporteerd. Meier werd tewerkgesteld in Monowitz (onderdeel van concentratie kamp Auschwitz) en overleed (werd vermoord) drie maanden later op 21-12-1943. Hij werd 39 jaar oud.

    Henny werd na aankomst geselecteerd als proefpersoon voor het Experimentenblock 10 van Auschwitz. Block 10 was de plek waar onder andere Joseph Mengele (1911-1979) zijn gruwelijke medische experimenten uitvoerde.

    Op 18-01-1945 zijn duizenden vrouwen , waaronder ook Henny, geëvacueerd uit Auschwitz en overgebracht naar het vrouwenkamp Ravensbrück waar ze onder erbarmelijke omstandigheden dwangarbeid moesten verrichten.

    Bij het oprukken van de bevrijders, moesten de vrouwen die daartoe in staat waren naar het sub-kamp Malchow lopen, een afstand van zo’n 70 kilometer westwaarts. Het was een van de beruchte dodenmarsen. Henny was daarbij. Van 02 op 03-05-1945 werd ze in Malchow bevrijd, ze had alle doorgestane verschrikkingen overleefd.

    Henny keerde terug naar Zelhem en emigreerde later naar Zuid-Afrika. Daar hertrouwde ze, onbekend met wie. Vooralsnog is onbekend in welke plaats en in welk land Henriette is overleden. Mogelijk in Zuid-Afrika.
