Herman Aussen, gehuwd met Wilhelmina Meijer en vader van Anni en Jozef vestigde zich op 17-09-1924 in Nijmegen, komende vanuit Oberhausen. Herman was loodgieter van beroep. Volgens zijn PK zou hij op 19-12-1942 zijn weggevoerd naar Duitsland. Dat is zeer waarschijnlijk onjuist.

Genoteerd is dat hij op 15 oktober 1942 in Auschwitz is omgebracht. Herinneringskamp Westerbork stelt vast : aankomst in Kamp Westerbork 3/5 oktober 1942, transport 27 naar Auschwitz op 12 oktober 1942. Met hem werden op 15 oktober om het leven gebracht zijn vrouw Wilhelmine Aussen-Meijer, zijn enige dochter Anni (22j)en zijn schoondochter Suzanna Aussen-Roozendaal(26 j) gehuwd met zijn zoon Jozef. Jozef leefde nog tot 28-2-1943. Toen werd ook hij (25j) vermoord.
