"Gus" Tuit grew up from his second birthday till 1952 in Prospect Park, Paterson New Jersey. He graduated from Technical school as a Tools designer, but soon after in 1952, he joined the US Air Force and became a pilot. Was stationed in Dre
ux, France from 1955 till 1957 and flew C-119 "Flying Boxcar", and visited Holland two times in that period.
Visited Havelte (province Drenthe) and Hindeloopen (province Friesland) in the Netherlands in 1976.
He retired at the age of 60, in 1991, after 34 years piloting with Capital Airlines and United Airlines.
He is a member of the Retired United Pilots Association (RUPA)
