Arnoldina Julia trad op 23-jarige leeftijd toe tot de orde van de Franciscanessen van Salzkotte en werd daardoor zuster Maria Eduarda; door de familie ook wel tanta Dina genoemd. Ze heeft als kloosterzuster verschillende functies bekleed zoals 'zuster van de voordeur'in het huis voor schipperskinderen te Rotterdam, in het Antoniusziekehuis te IJmuiden en in 'de Ursula'in Wassenaar en Moeder Overste in Wervershoof en in Wognum. Nadat ze de 65-jarige leeftijd had bereikt woonde ze in een klein convent in Gorredijk (Friesland). Haar laatste jaren leefde ze in het moederhuis Alverna te Aerdenhout, waar ze van ouderdom en als oudste en laatste uit haar gezin stierf. Arnoldina Julia vervulde binnen haar direkte familie een belangrijke bindende rol. Haar kloosterjubilea waren ware familiereünies. Onder andere dit gegeven en haar uitvaart hebben voor twee van haar neven: Johan Hendril Gerardus en Johan Hendrikus Sebastiaan Timmermann het startsignaal betekent voor het onderzoek naar de geschiedenis en de stamboom van de familie Timmermann. Ze is begraven op het kloosterkerkhof van het klooster 'Alverna' te Aerdenhout. Van haar zijn vele foto's aanwezig. Arnoldina Julia is religieuze, en staat op 22-5-1926 ingeschreven op het adres Havenstraat 158 te Bloemendaal in het internaat St. Petrus. Zij vertrekt op 26-6-40 naar de Boekenroodenweg 9 in Bloemendaal maar keert op 30-08-1940 weer terug volgens de persoonskaart.
