Tante Bet was ongetrouwd en woonde bij haar ouders. Mijn moeder, Bets Ottenhoff-Schilder, vertelde over haar logeerpartijen bij haar grootvader Hermanus en tante Bet - de zus van haar moeder Geertje. Het buurtschap Hinderdam was eigenlijk niet meer dan een breed pad langs de Vecht. Het huisje bij de boerderij stond pal aan de weg. Tijdens een bezoek in 1992, de boerderij werd toen bewoond door ene familie J.Jaasse, mochten mijn ouders een kijkje nemen. Binnen was er veel veranderd, maar buiten was alles nog hetzelfde, inclusief de wagenschuur en de luiken van de ramen. De boerderij werd in de jeugd van mijn moeder bewoond door de familie Schuurman met haar tweede man Hogervorst. Mijn moeder kende die familie goed omdat zij met haar broer in de vakantie er 6 weken verbleven. Toen Tante Bet later naar Nigtevecht verhuisde, zijn mijn ouders met ons de kinderen nog vaak op bezoek geweest; wij speelden dan op het erf en mochten aardbeien plukken.
