    Op 13 en 14 juli 1711 attesteerden Pieter van Es, sleper, oom van de requirante, Willem Willemsz. Berk, looiersgast, zwager van Jan Jacobs Klerk nagenoemd, Jacob de Beste, met- 1 selaarsknecht, getrouwd met Zijtje Voermans, zuster van de requirante, en Neeltje Jansdr., visverkoopster, moeder van de requirante, allen wonende te Rotterdam, op verzoek van Annetje Voermans, huisvrouw van Jan Jacobsz. Klerk. Zij verklaarden dat Annetje met "volkomen genoegen" in het jaar 1709 was getrouwd met Jan Jacobs Klerk, die in het laatst van dat jaar met het schip "duyvenvoorden" als matroos naar Oost-Indie was gevaren en dat rij "soo voor als na het trouwen en de wel specialyckgedurende a!e uyt landigheyd van de voor- noemden haren man haer altzjd wel en eerlyk en buyten alle opspracke heeft gedragen en als nog k dragende" etc. Deze akte is voor zover mij bekend tevens het laatste levensteken van Jacob den Besten
