Antje was ongetrouwd en kinderloos en woonde samen met haar zus Christien. Zij poetste, in de jaren 40 en 50 van de 20ste eeuw, samen met haar zus de scholen bij het kasteel Hoensbroek. Antje was licht verstandelijk gehandicapt: zij zong veelvuldig "Te lourdes in de bergen" en "Maria te minnen". Dat klonk dan wijd over de Schurenberg.
