Altha L. Huey, 95, of Zanesville, died at her residence at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, following a short illness. She was born June 19, 1907, in Zanesville, daughter of the late James and Inez (Smith) Forker.

She was employed for many years at the Roseville Pottery, Maple Drive-In Theater and as a cashier for the YWCA Cafeteria. She was a member of Market Street Baptist Church and a former volunteer at the Muskingum County Home.

She is survived by four sons, James (Jean) Huey of Nashport, Richard "Duke" (Beverly) Huey of Zanesville, Benny Huey of Zanesville, and Thomas (Carole) Huey of Nashport one daughter, Patricia "Patty" (Lanny) Hickman of Zanesville 31 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren two sisters, Alma Mautz of Zanesville, and Eleanor Forker of Goodyear, Ariz. and a special friend, Melody Huffman of Zanesville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Huey Sr., who died Dec. 3, 1967 two sons, Robert E. Huey Jr. and Gene Huey a daughter, Gloria Ripple a grandson, David Ripple a great-grandson, Chad Marple and six brothers and three sisters.

Calling hours will be held 5 to 8 p.m. today, and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Bryan Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muskingum County Home, 1400 Newark Road, Zanesville, 43701.
