Cornelis werd geboren op 16 sept. 1864 op het adres wat nu Klapperdijk 11 te Wapenveld is, toen hij trouwde bouwde hij een eigen woning tegenover zijn ouderlijk huis wat nu Klapperdijk 11 is
Direct na WO II werd Cornelis uit zijn huis gezet. Hij woonde daar toen alleen, en er was grote woningnood.
Hij werd het huis uitgezet, zijn boeltje werd op de bleek voor het huis gezet en men wachtte toen af waar hij heen ging.
Dat was naar zijn oudste zoon naast hem, en die kreeg toen alsnog bericht dat die zijn vader in huis moest opnemen
