Op 16 juli 1744 wordt in Breda genoemd dat ene Gijsbert Lips waarnemend bierkruier wordt voor Mattheas Urie. Vanaf 1766-05-07 is Dingeman van Gils substituut-bierkruier, en volgt hij dus Gijsbert Lips op. Op 21 oktober 1773 wordt dochter Maria Susanna geboren. Peter is dan Petrus Tubert, meter is Petronilla Joosen. In 1793 is hij getuige bij de doop van zijn kleinzoon Willem Nijs.
