Sierck Johans Cnossen deed in 1711 openbare belijdenis te Hommerts. Hijwas van 1719 tot 1724 diaken bij de Ned. Herv. gemeente te Hommerts en van 1733 tot 1744 was hij ouderling bij deze kerkelijke gemeente. Hij washuisman (d.i. "een redelijke boer") te Hommerts-Jutrijp en ontvanger (1727). Sierck is nogal eens een paar maal verhuisd, zoals reeds eerder vermeld werd (zie hoofdstuk: Hommerts-Jutrijp). In 1758 woont hij op stemdragende sate 28, waarvan hij dan ook eigenaar is. Sybren Franckes en Jetske Siercks kopen in 1753 de helft van een satevan 56 pondematen van Sierck Johans voor 406 caroliguldens en 6 stuivers. Stellig in de sate waar Sybren boert. Eeuwe Heeres, de man van Antje Siercks (E), leent in 1764 het aanzienlijke bedrag van 1300 caroligulden van Wybe Siercks (F), huisman te Hommerts. Dit vanwege zijn aankoop van een "schuite schips stol, lang over steeven agt en sestig voet, wijd veertien voet en hol op syn welling vier voet en vier duim.".
