Johan is sedert 1738 boer op de stemdragende sate 4 te Jutrijp; in 1748 blijkt hij tevens eigenaar te zijn van de helft van deze sate van 95 pondematen. Hij staat in 1749te boek als "een arm boer". In 1758 lenen Johan en Sibbel 200 caroligulden van Jacob Atses te IJlst.Twee jaar later leent hij nogmaals 100 caroligulden van sekretaris Tuinhout van Wymbritseradeel. In 1765 kopen Johan Siercks en Anne Tjamkes (B) in hun hoedanigheid van kerkvoogden van Jutrijp, bezittingen.
