Ella married Dick DeYoung June 10, 1914 and they had three children, Ivalee, Warren and Leon. Unfortunately, Ivalee only lived about 6 months.

She and Dick lived on a farm just west of Prairie View. Before buying this farm in 1925, Dick worked as a cashier at the bank in Prairie View. Ella stayed at home and mothered the children plus doing all the things a farm wife does.
