Notes about Anna Marie deYoung

Anna was actually born in Pella NB which doesn't exist anymore. Firth was very close. Her parents were Pieter and Anna TenBosch DeJong. Anna's mother, Anna, died in childbirth and baby Anna went to live with Pieter's sister and husband, Peter and Egji Tysseling in Pella IA.

Anna had four full brothers - Peter Martin, Nicholas Jacob, Dick Albert, and Albert William.

In 1892 Anna's father, Pieter, married Della VanderBeek and Anna was returned to the family. In 1895 the family moved to the Prairie View KS area where her father farmed.

In the coming years 10 half siblings were added to the family - Aaron John, Gracie (who died young from drowning) Henry John, David (who died at 6 years old), Grace Agnes, Herbert Theodore, Nellie Daveda, Deda Harriet, David Edward, and Irene Wilma.

February 28, 1913, Anna married George Walcott and to that union 5 children were born - Velma, Eldred, Wallace, Geraldine, and Melvin. Her husband, George, was also a farmer and farmed various farms in the Prairie View area.
