Notes about Douwe Boxma

Toen Jan S. op 1 januari 1901 voor het huis van Douwe Boxma in Veenoord liep, had hij waarschijnlijk een kwade dronk over zich. Hij schreeuwde Boxma dreigend toe terwijl hij met een mes zwaaide "De bok is wel tehuis en zal er uit. Sterven moet hij. Ik zal hem doodsteken, de kop zal er af". Blijkbaar is Douwe niet naar buiten gegaan, maar even later "sneed Jan S. Roelof de Haan in den kraag zijner jas". Douwe verklaart later dat "de Bok" een vrachtelijk woord is en "ik word niet zóó daogelieks weg nuimt". Het openbaar ministerie eist op 20 februari twee maanden gevangenisstraf tegen S.
Het moet een aardig opstootje zijn geweest bij de woning van Boxma in Veenoord. Op 6 maart behandelt het openbaar ministerie een andere zaak die met hiermee te maken heeft. Pietertje Timmerman die daar in de buurt woont gaat ook eens kijken wat er aan de hand is, maar krijgt daar van Jan K. een klap met een schep en valt bewusteloos neer. Jan K. beweert onschuldig te zijn, het O.M. eist zes weken gevangenisstraf.
