    Op 1 mei 1520 verkreeg hij van zijn broer Cornelis recht van wegenis over een perceel erf te Tilburgh.

    Op 24 december 1521 verpachtte hij een hoeve in Goirle aan zijn zoon Anthonis, aan wie hij op 29 november 1530 nog een hoeve overgaf, gelegen te Tilborch by die steenen camer. Tilburg en Goirle vormden bestuurlijk een entiteit, één heerlijkheid zoals ook Kalmthout dat met Essen vormde.
    Jan Adriaen Smolders was schepen van Tilburg in 1531.

    Op 23 juni 1531 verkreeg hij van Willem Laureijs Ansems een erfpacht van 12 lopenrogge (226 liter), die hem jaarlijks op Sint-Bavo en Sint Remigius moest leveren, dus op 1 oktober.

    Op 22 juni 1540 droeg hij zijn huis met hof, schuur, schaapskooi en land Goirle over aan Hendrick Laureys Hoefkens
