    Simon I van Montfort (ca. 1025 - 25 september 1087) was een zoon van Amaury I van Montfort (ca. 990 - na april 1052) en van Bertrada van Gometz. Hij volgde in 1053 zijn overleden vader op als heer van Montfort. Simon Stichtte de Sint-Pieterskerk en de Sint-Laurentiuskapel in Montfort en vergrootte het klooster van Sint-Thomas in Épernon met een priorij. Simon werd begraven in het Sint-Thomas klooster.

    Simon was in zijn eerste huwelijk getrouwd met Isabella, vrouwe van Nogent-le-Roi, dochter van Hugo van Broyes. Na de dood van Isabella wilde Simon met Agnes, dochter van graaf Richard van Évreux, trouwen maar hij werd afgewezen. Simon liet Agnes daarom ontvoeren door haar halfbroer Roland, die in ruil met Simons dochter Isabella mocht trouwen.

    Simons vader Amaury, was stichter van het kasteel van Montfort en het Sint-Thomas klooster in Épernon.
