Wichert is ca 1930 als machinist van de NS naar Rotterdam vertrokken. Hij heeft daarna op meerder plaatsen in NL gewoond. Maar is uiteindelijk weer in Rotterdam terecht gekomen. Hij en Jantje zijn daar ook overleden. Vlgs Thea Van Veen is Wichert ca 1968 overleden, vlak voordat haar vader overleed.
Was machinist op de lijn Zutphen-Emmerich en daarna op de RET of NS.
