Child(ren):
William grew up to become a yeoman farmer by trade and married Alice Talbot. They moved during the next year or so after Elizabeth was born, from Broadwey to Broadmayne and had 3 more children. When William and Alice arrived in Broadmayne, they lived in a small cottage and William had to take what work he could find since he was not a farmer once he left Broadwey. It was unsure whether or not that there was a serious quarrel within the family regarding William not marrying Alice until some weeks after their baby was born, as it was regarded as shameful for them then not to marry before the baby arrived, or the farm lease had expired. He had gone to Winterborne Monkton to help his niece Joan. William was not mentioned in the will of his uncle Henry Sherren, in 1752. Henry's other nephews were mentioned and since Willliam and John were 7 and 5 when Henry made his will, and that there was no animosity towards William on Henry's part, Henry preferred John, as he was given a good Sherren name. William died at the age of 81 at the beginning of February and is buried, according to the Broadmayne Parish Registers 1749-1802, in the church graveyard next to Alice.
