Notes about John Sherren

John left a will made on 10th December 1804. He named Thomas Cockeram of Cerne Abbas, gentleman and Henry Sherren of Nether Cerne gentleman, as his executors and trustees.
A box tomb was set up next to the grave of Robert Sherren the younger, his wife and sisters, in memory of John and Mary. The wording, very faint now reads; John Sherren, April 1808, aged 77; Mary, died 7 October, 1793, aged 56, also Joan, daughter of William and Elizabeth Dunning, granddaughter of John & Mary Sherren, died 17 July, 1808 aged 7. At the west end of the tomb is the wording; Elizabeth Dunning, died 19 March, 1812, aged 13 years.
