"Darrell Alwood wants to let the family know the sad news that his brother, Duane, died this morning following a recent illness and hospitalization at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA. Darrell has been back and forth to Rancho Mirage over the past month to help support Duane and his partner, Jake, as Duane's conditioned worsened. Duane died this morning in Hospice Care in Rancho Mirage.

Darrell is returning to Bellingham today to make final arrangements for Duane. You should all receive an update re: this in the next week or so as things get finalized. Please keep Darrell's family and Duane's partner, Jake, in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with this great loss....

Duane was the son of Arthur and Thelma Alwood, grew up in Bellingham, WA and has attended many Alwood picnic reunions.

We will be having graveside services for Duane at 11:00 on Tuesday, July, 19 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 5977 Northwest Drive, Ferndale, WA. Prior to the graveside service, there will be viewing at 9:00 a.m. at Westford Funeral Home, 1301 Broadway, Bellingham, WA. (360) 734-1717. Following the service there will be a luncheon with time to share memories and visit with family at Darrell and Sherrie Alwood's place at 3808 Gilmore Road, Everson, WA.
