"Vern E. Barlow

Vern E. Barlow, 84, of Estherville, died on Friday, August 5, 2011, at the Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville.

Funeral services were held at 2. p.m. on Thursday, August 11, at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with Pastor Lynn Elrod officiating. Burial was in the East Side Cemetery in Estherville. Military graveside rites were givenby the VFW Post 3388 and American Legion 91, both of Estherville.

The Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville was in charge of arrangements.

Vern Eugene Barlow the son of Milton and Hazel (Bliss) Barlow was born March 19, 1927, in Wallingford.

On April 26, 1947, he was united in marriage to Anita Swalve in Jackson, Minn.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Estherville, American Legion, and a lifetime member of VFW Post 3388.

Left to cherish Vern's memory are his wife, Anita, of Estherville; children: Michael Barlow, and his wife Marjean, of Minnetonka, Minn.; Catherine Miller, and her husband, Brian, of Estherville; six grandchildren; fivegreat-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Lind, of Estherville; Helen Ellingson, of Edina, Minn.; and Bonnie Montgomery, and her husband, John, of Springfield, Miss."
