'Mrs. Ammarency Pelton Viers was born June 9th 1831, near Akron, Ohio, and died at her son's home August 16, 1909, aged 71 years, 2 months and 6 days.

At the age of 3 years she moved with her parents, David and Elizabeth Pelton to New Portage, Summit Co., O., where they resided until she was 12 years old when they moved to Lucas county, now Fulton county. She led an active life,teaching school when very young. She was married to Elisha Viers Sept. 2, 1849, and they moved on their farm April 1, 1850, where they ever after resided. Mr. Viers died Apr. 9th 1899. They were baptised and joined the Christian churchunder the preaching of L. L. Carpenter in 1858. She had 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Only one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Gasche of Williams county, who is now 85 years old, and one brother, Jesse L. Pelton, of Sharon, Barber county, Kansas,who is 74 years old, survive her. To Mr. and Mrs Viers were born 5 children, Albert, Violetta Willey, Bird and Murtle Mock, all of whom reside in this vicinity. Adolphus died 12 years ago. There are ten grandchildren and 12great-grandchildren. Funeral was held at Ottokee conducted by Rev. W. R. Moffett and interment at Salisbury cemetery.
