"Isebrand, Johannes 1846-1900 Isebrand, Gesina Meyer 1858-1947 ... Mr. Isebrand ... born in the village of Loquard Ostfriesland on July 12 1846. He immigrated to America in 1862, first setttling in Cook County., Illinois. In 1870 hemoved to Grundy County, Iowa. This is where he met his future [sic] bride-to-be, Gesina Meyer. She was born September 23, 1858 at Ridott, Illinois. When she was still an infant her parents moved to New York City. They resided therefor two years, then came back to Illinois. In 1871 the family moved to Grundy County, Iowa.

Johannes and Gesina were married February 12, 1876. In 1878 the young couple came to Kossuth County and took up farming. There home was blessed with the births of Ollie, Etta, Dena, Carl, John, Ben, Henry, Senus, Johanna and Ida....Johannes died May, 1900 and Gesina in March of 1947. ..."
