JOHN A. HARMS DIES SUDDENLY SERVICES MONDAY
Funeral services for John A. Harms were held Monday afternoon from the Ramsey Reformed Church with the Rev. A. Roskamp their former pastor in charge. The Rev. Frank Snuttjer assisted with prayer.
Burial was made in the Ramsey church cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Toats, Senus Isebrand, Stephen Tjaden, Bonno Schutter, Art Schiltz and Jacob Krutzlaben.
John A. Harms was born at Hamswchurn, Germany, February 18, 1869, and died suddenly at his home in Titonka Friday morning, June 10, attaining the age of 86 years, 3 months, 3 weeks and 2 days.
He was baptized, confirmed and received his education in Germany.
On April 20, 1895, he was united in marriage to Grace Meyer. They came to America in 1906 and settled in Alden, Iowa, for two years. They then came to this vicinity and lived on their farm northwest of Titonka until moving to town in1943.
Mr. Harms was a faithful member of the Ramsey Reformed church.
On April 20th of this year Mr. and Mrs. Harms observed their 60th wedding anniversary.
The couple was blessed with ten children, three of whom preceded their father in death. Surviving are his wife, six sons, John and Jesse of Burt, Carl, Herman, Ralph and Albert of Titonka; one daughter, Jennie at home; thirty-threegrandchildren and many other relatives and friends." <>
