"MARION HAROLD HOULTON, born 17 May 1899, Butler, Indiana; the son of Rinaldo Dode and Maude (Howard Houlton. ... Hazel Bonita Alwood was born 15 October 1899 the daughter of Charles H. and Clara (Deems) Alwood. Her paternalgrandparents were John and Rhoda (Millard) Alwood. Her maternal grandparents were George and Louisa (Rude) Deems. She had one sister Alverda.

Marion and Hazel were married 24 February 1940. He attended country school at Houlton schoolhouse in Franklin Twonship. Marion was a watchmaker and had his business at home. Alwo a musician and played banjo and guitar for square dancesand different functions. Hazel worked at Marshall Clothing Mfg., Co. many years and also at the Butler Theater when Wayne and Harriet Goodwin owned it. Mr. Houlton had one sister Audra (Houlton Platt. Mr. & Mrs. Houlton lived on theHoulton farm their entire married life. Marion Houlton died 10 February 1979, and Hazel Houlton died 26 February 1956."
