Services were held Monday, June 4 at Second Reformed Church in Lennox for John H. Neeman who, following a lengthy illness, died at Avera McKennan Hospice in Sioux Falls on Wednesday evening, May 30, 2007. He attained the age of 62 years, five months and eight days.

Interment was held in the Lennox Cemetery.

John H. Neeman was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Dec. 22, 1944, the son of Cornelius and Ethel (Harms) Neeman. He attended Chancellor Public School and later became a Journeyman Carpenter.

On Oct. 2, 1964 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Klinghagen at Second Reformed Church in Lennox.

They lived in Sioux Falls for one year and the remainder of their married life at rural Tea. His wife, Marilyn, died on June 13, 1999.

John was united in marriage to Penny McCullough on Jan. 21, 2001 at Second Reformed Church in Lennox.

They lived in Sioux Falls during their married life. In addition to farming John had been employed at Sioux Falls Construction and Guarantee Roofing, until retiring in 2002 due to ill health.

John was a member of Second Reformed Church in Lennox. He loved fishing, camping and hunting.

Besides his wife, Marilyn, he was preceded in death by his father, Cornelius, on Jan. 15, 1991 and his mother, Ethel, on Oct. 22, 2005.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Penny; three daughters: Teresa Herman and her husband, Matt, of Prescott Valley, AZ, Darla Neeman of rural Lennox and Dawn Timmerman and her husband, Scott, of rural Lennox; three step-children and their spouses: Sara and Les Rowland of Brookings; Daniel and Pavlina Zoss of Bruno, Czech Republic and Jeremy and Rachel Zoss of Wiesbaden, Germany; nine grandchildren: Zachary, Lucas, Noah, Nathan, Amanda, Tyler, Ben, Katerina and Maddie; two brothers: Myron Neeman of Centerville and Harold Neeman of Sioux Falls; other relatives and friends, including his caretakers at Avera McKennan Hospice; and a special friend, his dog, Quincy.
