"Henry G. Klinghagen was born on a farm north of Worthing, South Dakota on December 21, 1906, the son of George and Lena Klinghagen. He attended rural school and grew to manhood there.

On September 16, 1931 he was united in marriage to Ella Kuper at Lennox. They lived in the Lennox area and moved to their present farm near Harrisburg in 1945 where he has since lived. His wife preceded him in death on January 5, 1966.

He was an active and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Tea. For 20 years he operated the LaValley Township motor grader. He served as LaValley Township Supervisor for 36 years, was on the Board of Directors of the HarrisburgFarmers Co-op Elevator for many years and was treasurer of the Harrisburg Rural Fire Department for 19 years.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two infant sons, four brothers and one sister.

Henry died suddenly shortly after arrival at a Sioux Falls hospital on May 1, 1983, the result of an apparent heart attack. He attained the age of 76 years, four months and 10 days.

Surviving are three sons: Roger H. Klinghagen of Tea, Dennis G. Klinghagen and Keith Klinghagen, both of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Sam Klinghagen of Harrisburg, Mike Klinghagen of Lennox and John Klinghagen of ClaraCity, Minnesota.

AFTER MARRIAGE LIVED IN AREA, MEMBER OFTRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH OF TEA. OPERATED THE LaVALLEY TWP. MOTOR GRADER FOR 20 YRS.TWP.SUPERVISOR FOR 36 YRS. 1939-45 OPERATED A PORTABLE FEED MILL.
