"Elise "Elsie" Kuper died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center due to continued complications of a stroke suffered in October of 2008. She attained the age of 80 years, six months and 12 days.

Services will be held at Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Lennox, at 11 a.m. Saturday (today), March 21, with Rev. David Young officiating.
Interment will take place at Lennox Cemetery.
Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Honorary pallbearers are Terry Johnson, Brandt Kuper, John Schneiderman, Jared Kuper and Justin Kuper.
Elise Margaret Blumhoff was born in Lennox, South Dakota, on September 6, 1928, the only child of Jurgen and Mareke (Camp) Blumhoff. She attended rural schools in the Lennox and Tea area.
On July 24, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harold A. Kuper at her parents' home in Lennox. They farmed their entire married life south of Lennox.
Mrs. Kuper was a member of Turner County First Presbyterian Church, while she enjoyed and attended Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church as she was able to in her later years. "Elsie" was an RSVP volunteer, a quilting volunteer, a driver for Meals On Wheels and did nursing home visitations.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Jurgen and Mareke Blumhoff; her husband, Harold A. Kuper, on December 16, 1971; and her son, Gaylen R. Kuper on June 13, 2004.
Surviving are her sons, Gary Kuper, Woodbury, MN; Gene Kuper, Arlington, TX; her daughter, Elonda Makins (Kuper), Yankton, SD; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
