Funeral services were to be held today, Thursday, June 17 at Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m. for Gaylen Ray Kuper, who died suddenly Sunday afternoon, June 13, 2004 near Marion, South Dakota, the result of an accident while riding his trike. He attained the age of 45 years, ten months and 26 days.

Gaylen Ray Kuper was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on July 17, 1958, the son of Harold and Elise (Blumhoff) Kuper. He and his son owned and operated K&K Underground.

He was married to LouAnn Janssen on December 24, 1982.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, on December 16, 1971, also at the age of 45 years.

He is survived by his wife, LouAnn; his son, Justin Kuper; his daughter, Codie Kuper; his mother, Elise Kuper, all of Lennox; two brothers and their wives, Gary and Deb Kuper of Woodbury, Minnesota and Gene and Nancy Kuper of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Elonda Schneiderman of Brighton, Colorado; plus several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
