MRS. DICK MEINDERS CLAIMED BY DEATH

Passed Away at Home of Daughter Mrs. Will Kaduce, Friday Morning After Lingering Illness.

Mrs Derk Meinders died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Will Kaduce, southwest of Buffalo Center, on Friday morning at 8:30 and although it was known that her condition was considered serious, the announcement of her death came as apainful surprise to many.

Wopke Meinders nee Akkerman, was born in Germany, November 22, 1852. She was united in marriage with Derk Meinders, May 1 1884. His death occurred nearly two years ago. The immediate relatives surviving are her two daughters, Mrs.Kaduse and Mrs. Harm Gruis and three sons, Henry and George of this locality and John of Belmond; also 22 grand-children. She was in her 77th year and has resided in this vicinity for many years; first on the farm and for 14 years theywere residents of this city. Last spring on accounty of failing health from a cancerous growth she went to live with her daughter where she was tenderly cared for until the final summons. She was genial, always with a thought for thecomfort of others, kind, companionable and considerate. She was friendly to all who knew her and her passing is mourned, not alone within the family circle and amoung relatives but by the community of which she had so long been a part.

Mrs. Meinders was a member of the Reformed church and leaves to the loved ones a hope that ere long there will be no more death, neither sorrow. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Reformed church at German Valley ofwhich she was a member before affiliating with the local church. the services conducted by Rev. G. Haken and Rev. J. H. Schoon were largely attended and the remaines were tenderly laid by the side of her husband in the cemetery adjoiningthe church.

To the members of the family the sympathy of the community is extended - B. C. Tribune." <>
