"A Loving Mother Passes Away

Mrs. John Hesebeck passed away at her home in Ocheyedan on Friday, January 7, 1916. A kind and loving wife, a noble mother and a true neighbor has been taken away. The community has been very much saddened by her passing. Her life work was well and nobly done, and she passed from erth firm in the Christian faith. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Waterman having charge. Interment was made in the Ocheyedan cemetery. Mrs. Hesebeck's last illness was of but short duration and her last days were filled with peace and trust.

Dora Mary Koening was born in Hanover, Germany, May 3, 1846. She came to this country with her two sisters and one brother in May, 1868. She was un_ John Hesebeck at Loganville, Wisconsin, in June, 1863. They made their home there for four years, when they came to Osceola county, Iowa, having resided here since 1872. Eleven children were born to them, seven daughters and four sons, all of whom survive except Albert, who departed this life at the age of five years. Those who survive are the befrft husband, ten children and one brother, of the immediate relatives. The children, who were at their mother's bedside during her last conscious moments, are Henry, John, Willie and Mrs. Edith Ko_t, of this city; Mrs. D[ora?] Graves, of Bethel, Missouri; Mrs. Annie Vertheen, of Woodstock, Minnesota; Mrs. Minnie Saienga, of Melvin; Mrs. Lena Blair and Mrs. Mary Rouse, of Lake Park, and Mrs. Tillie Rouse, of Sutherland."
