Death of John Hesebeck:

John Hesebeck was born in Hanover Germany April 9, 1843, and died at his home in Ocheyedan, Iowa, March 17, 1918, age 74 years, 11 months and 22 days. The deceased came to this county fifty years ago this spring and settled in Wisconsin. After about four years he came to Osceola county and located on the homestead. For the past fifteen years he had taken up his residence in town.

In the summer of 1868 he was united in marriage to Miss Dora King, this unbroken union continuing until two years ago the 8th of last January when his companion was called to the better land. One son, Albert, also proceeded him in death. On Sunday morning, with no apparent suffering or struggle Mr. Hesebeck fell into the sleep that knows no waking, until "the trump shall sound."

There survive to mourn, the following children: Mrs. Dora Graves, Bethel, Missouri, Henry Hesebeck, Ocheyedan, Mrs. Anna Vertheen, Pipestone, Minn., Mrs Edith Kout, Ocheyedan, John Hesebeck, Windom, Minn., Mrs Minnie Sanienga, Melvin, Will Hesebeck, Ocheyedan, Mrs. Mary Rouse, Lake Park, Mrs. Lena Blaire, Lake Park, Mrs Tillie Rouse, Lake Park.

The funeral services were held from the home on Wednesday afternoon March 20th, at 1:30 O'clock in charge of Rev Waterman, interment was made in the Ocheyedan cemetery.
