Marjorie Ann Veen was born January 22, 1932 in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Gerritt and Henrietta (Holt) Heindyk. She attended school in Sibley and graduated in 1949. On May 23, 1949, Marge was united in marriage to Norman Veen, at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, in Rushmore, Minnesota. Following their marriage, Marge and Norman made their home in George, Iowa. In 1960, they moved their family from George to Sibley, Iowa.
Marge began working as a Nurse's Aide after their move. She continued her job in the health care industry working at Country View Manor, Sibley Nursing and Rehab, and finished out her working career with Home Health.
Marge enjoyed crafts, ceramics, making cards, going out for lunch with the bible church group, the "Ashton girls", and spending winters in Arizona. She was known for her "softa" cookies, and rusk bread. Marge very much cared for her family, church family, and friends.
She is survived by three children, Lenore Veen of Sibley, IA, Paul (Shortie) Veen of Charles City, IA, Janet (Tom) Schroder of Sibley, IA; four grandchildren, Mike (Jodi) Van Westen of Sibley, IA, Cary (Jason) Rueter of Sibley, IA, Clinton Schroder of Sioux Falls, SD, and Kelcey Schroder of Sioux Falls, SD; five great grandchildren, Skylar, Nick, and Cora Rueter, and Shaylee and Phillip Van Westen; and one special "grand daughter" Dominique Lee of Chattanooga, TN.
Marge is preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Norman Veen; and her parents.
