Funeral services for Abraham (Abe) Schouten, 61, were conducted friday afternoon at Canton Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Gilman officiating.

Burial was at Rock Valley, Ia.

Mr. Schouten died Friday evening, Dec. 15, at his home of cancer. He had been ill for ten months.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Hansen, Gene Bunch, Henry Van Zee, Richard Van Zee, Gys Kuiper, Paul Barry and Peter Vande Velde.

Mr. Schouten was born April 14, 1908, to Bert and Lena Schouten at Sioux Center, Ia., and attended school in Sioux Center and Ireton, Ia.,

He married Adrianna Druyvestyn on May 10, 1930; she preceded him in death in 1956.

Schouten lived In Canton, Minneapolis, California, and Rock Valley at intermitten periods and returned to Canton to live in February 1964. He was employed as a salesman and bookkeeper.

He married Mrs. Laurene Chaon on Feb. 22, 1964.

He was a member of Canton Lutheran Church.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Adrianna in 1956, his parents and a granddaughter.

Survivors are his wife, Laurene; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lenora) Molstad of Hopkins, Minn., and Mrs. Harvey (Audrey) Beuckens of Hoffman, Minn.; a stepdaughter, Jane Chaon of Canton; a brother, George of Rock Valley, and six grandchildren.
