Alexandria John Griebel, son of Lewis and Abbie Griebel, born on a farm east of Monroe, Aug. 3, 1897, passed away at his farm home Apr. 21, 1960 having reached the age of 62 years, 8 months and 16 days.

He was united in marriage to Alyce Benson of Parker, Sep. 14, 1918.

To this union were born three children. Lawrence, who passed away 24 years ago, Evelyn (Mrs. Elmer Wieman), Monroe, Delmar, who lives at home.

Alex lived his entire life in the Monroe community. He lived on the same farm the past 41 years. He and his brother, William operated the Monroe garage for a short time.

He attended the Monroe Evangelical United Brethren Church his entire life. He accepted Christ as his personal savior during his illness. He had been in poor health for over a year.

Alex was a friend to all who knew him, highly respected by all. He was a kind and loving husband and father.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, Alyce, daughter, Evelyn, (Mrs. Elmer Wieman), Monroe, and son, Delmar, Monroe, 2 grandchildren, Trudy and Curtis Wieman; brother, William, Monroe; sister, Carrie Freeman, Alpena.
