Sunday afternoon Mrs. Ed Tressler received word that her mother, Mrs. E. Regenberg, had died very suddenly that afternoon at her home in Dale Township about 4 o'clock. Mrs. Ragenberg was in best of health 'till last Thursday when she was affected with a sort of paralytic stroke, but she soon appeared to be all right and nothing was thought of the matter 'till Sunday afternoon when she was suddenly taken sick and died in a short time. Deceased was also a sister of Mrs. Frohloff of this city. The relatives who reside here attended the funeral Tuesday. Mrs Ragenberg was highly respected; and was quite well known in this city.
Mrs H. Ragenberg, one of the old settlers of Dale Township, died at her home near Matlock Sunday afternoon and was buried in the German Presbyterian Cemetery between George and Matlock Tuesday. Mrs. Ragenberg was a sister of Mrs. John Frohloff and mother of Mrs. Edward Tressler of this city. Both were present at the funeral services. The deceased was well known in the vicinity of her home and was a lady of many esteemable traits, whose friends were legion."

"Fritz Regenberg - - and his family came from Wisconsin to this area in 1877, six years after the first settlers had come, and during the last year of the terrible grasshopper siege. By this time the railroad had been laid as far northwest as Sheldon, Regenbergs traveled on the train that far, and the rest of the journey had to be made by following trails or going through the fields of prairie grass. Their farm was located a short distance southeast of where George is now, across the road from where Ude and Brunt Uden lived a little later.
Regenbergs had four girls and two boys. Mattie was one of the daughters and she married Ude Uden. The others left this area."
