THE RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT

Fritz Ragenberg died Monday at his home near Matlock in this county. Some weeks ago Mr. Ragenberg met with an accident which is supposed to have been the indirect cause of his death. He was driving home from George when a wheel came off his wagon and he was thrown out and quite badly bruised. The injuries were not thought to be serious at the time, but blood poisoning was produced.

Mr. Ragenberg was about 70 years of age. He located in Lyon County in 1877 and leaves his family a considerable estate. A wife and five children survive him. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Wortmann from the German Church, yesterday.

The Alton Democrat, Alton Iowa 8 April 1938, page 2 Heading: Sioux County History – 45 Years Ago (1893)

"Fritz Ragenberg, highly respected farmer living near Matlock, was dead from injuries received when he was thrown from his buggy while on the way home from George."
