Obituary of Shirley Schoorman
There will be a private family service for Shirley Schoorman, age 99, of Milford, Iowa. Interment will be at Milford Cemetery in Milford.

Shirley J. Schoorman, the daughter of Roy V. and Marian (Stapleton) Bever, was born October 14, 1920 in Milford, Iowa. She graduated from Milford High School in 1938.

On May 28, 1939, Shirley was married to Ruby "Rube" W. Schoorman in Jackson, Minnesota. The couple started farming in 1945 in rural Milford, moving to a farm west of Milford in 1959. They retired from farming in 1997.

Shirley enjoyed gardening, shopping, exercising and reading. She had been a member of the Union Memorial Church and the Eastern Star.

Shirley passed away March 18, 2020 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake at ninety-nine years of age. The family would like to express their appreciation to Mary Derflinger for her excellent care and support.

She is survived by her sons, David Schoorman and Gary (Klaren) Schoorman; grandchildren, Brad (Staci) Schoorman, Wes (Jess) Schoorman and Clara Schoorman; four great-grandchildren and her nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ruby Schoorman, in 1999, brothers and sisters.
