Life Span Ends For Mrs. Hilka Tjaden

Death Without Pain Comes to 82-Year Old Resident of Wellsburg

Mrs. Hilka Tjaden, nee Ulfers, passed away on Wednesday morning about 7 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert J. Geerdes, at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 7 days. The cause of death was due to old age. She apparently suffered from no disease or sudden attack; life seemed just to leave her.

Mrs. Tjaden had lived in Wellsburg since 1909 and had been living by herself until last week when she went to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Geerdes.

Her husband, T. Tjaden died in 1904 and one daughter, Mrs. Amos Shaw of Morrison preceded her in death. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fred Riekent, Monroe, S. D., and Mrs. Albert J. Geerdes, Wellsburg and two sons, Alex of Wellsburg and George of Humboldt, S.D.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 12:30 o'clock at the Albert Geerdes home followed by services at the Wellsburg German Reformed church at 1;30, Rev. Landsiedel officiating. Burial will be made at the Bode church cemetery.--The Wellsburg Herald
