Larry Howard Card, age 72, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born on December 5, 1940, the son of Howard and Leona (Lubbert) Card in Grundy Center, Iowa. He received his education from the Beaman Community School District in Beaman, Iowa.

Larry was united in marriage with Ann Marie Hippen on October 29, 1986, at their home. The couple has lived in Parkersburg their entire married life.

Throughout the years, Larry was employed as a truck driver working at the gravel pits, followed by a number of years working for Harry Eilers hauling gravel. In his free time he enjoyed golfing and was also a member of the 50's Club which traveled to area golf courses for play.

Larry died Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa, of natural causes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary Card and one step-son, Terry Truax.

Larry is survived by his wife Ann; one son, Jeffery (Wendy) Card of Burlington; three step-sons, Keith Truax of Waterloo, Lonnie (Linda) Truax of Cedar Falls, Scott Truax of Waterloo; three step-daughters, Debrah Behrends of Waterloo, Sandra Truax and Sherri Truax, both of Phoenix, Arizona; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2013, at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg, (319)346-1534 with inurnment in Oak Hill Cemetery, Parkersburg. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.
